Busy, Busy

Hey, all!
I have been getting intensely busy with my latest novel.
Those of you who have subscribed to my email list should have received your exclusive look at the first draft prologue. Feel free to leave me feedback!
I have approached this novel with a little bit more of a business structure. My debut novel took me over 6 years to finish, because I got overwhelmed and needed a break.
That overwhelm was largely due to the personal nature of that particular book, as well as some stressors at home, but I absolutely refuse to leave my readers (all few of you, haha) hanging on this next one. That being said, I've set deadlines for every part of this one, from drafting to editing to betas and more.
If you're interested in being a beta reader, you can sign up for that information via the link here:
Beta reading should commence in July, hopefully, but August more realistically. I am hoping to roll this one out and get it published sometime in the fall. (Is the first week of December still fall? haha)
The new Blurred Lines covers released last week and they're gorgeous. I can't wait to share some new TikToks with them! You can find me on TikTok using @melryewrites or via my linktree here:

I've set up an office-like setting in the mezzanine of the hockey rink and am spending roughly four hours on my book here tonight while my son practices and does men's league. It works so much better than trying to wait until all of the kids and my husband are asleep at night, because honestly, by then I just want to read a book... not write one. I'm hoping once the weather gets nice, I can sneak away from home a couple of evenings a week and post up at the local coffee shop for a bit instead. For now, I'm making do with what I can! #MomLife, amirite?
It's been a busy few weeks and it's only getting busier here with several tournaments, hotel stays, and events coming my way. I am determined to stick to my deadlines, so I may need to get creative in that regard, but this time of year is so special. My son is headed to State hockey and then starts his spring AAA league and we cannot wait for that. This season has been rough on the family and we look forward to better times ahead.
Thank you all so much for your support, and while there may not be anything exciting for you next week, I'll update you nonetheless.
With love and blank pages-
Melissa Ann Rye
